Saint-Malo is one of the most distinctive destinations in Brittany.

Its historic walled city, beaches, dramatic tides and surrounding countryside give couples the opportunity to create a wedding that feels unmistakably Breton while remaining relatively easy for international guests to reach.

Around Saint-Malo and the Emerald Coast, you will find historic manor houses, elegant estates, coastal properties and countryside venues, allowing you to stay close to the sea without necessarily holding the entire celebration directly on the coast.

For British guests in particular, Saint-Malo can be very practical: there are regular ferry connections with Portsmouth. Saint-Malo also has direct TGV services from Paris, while Rennes airport is less than an hour away by road.

It works particularly well for smaller elegant weddings, sophisticated wedding weekends and couples who want their guests to be able to enjoy restaurants, beaches and walks without needing a packed programme every hour.

For guests travelling without a car, the nearest railway station is Saint-Malo, with direct TGV services from Paris; regional buses connect Saint-Malo and Dinard. Dinard’s local airport currently serves private aviation rather than scheduled commercial flights, so international guests will generally arrive through another airport or by rail and road.

For international guests, Vannes, Auray and Lorient all have TGV stations, with direct rail connections from Paris; Morbihan Tourism currently lists Paris–Vannes at around 2½ hours by TGV.

That makes the area more accessible than its peaceful atmosphere might suggest.
